Text Box: Message from AlaSHES/AP President

     Peggy Carstens, President 2007-2008

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Alabama Society for Healthcare Executive Secretaries/Administrative Professionals (AlaSHES/AP) website.  Founded in 1981, our Society represents healthcare executive secretaries and administrative professionals across Alabama and is a member of the Alabama Hospital Association.

Our mission in AlaSHES/AP is to continue building a strong Society that enables our members to meet the educational challenges of the ever-changing healthcare environment for administrative professionals.  In this era of dramatic change assistants have never been more challenged, more stressed, than they are today.

I encourage you to take a moment and consider AlaSHES/AP in your future.  Our educational programs, offered three (3) times a year, provide an opportunity to learn practical skills that will enable you to manage your job and your career with professionalism, authority and success.  Many of our programs also offer personal enrichment and growth.  The networking opportunities are vast as our members work in all levels of Executive and Administrative Healthcare.

Over the past 25+ years we have had many wonderful programs and speakers that have encouraged us to grow and challenged us to dream.  “If you believe it – You can achieve it!”  To learn more about these programs please check out our link to Seminars, Events and Speakers for more details. All of our programs offer CEU’s approved by the Alabama Hospital Association.

I challenge you to take time to reflect on your future personal and professional goals, educational needs and networking opportunities and let AlaSHES/AP help you get there.  Our future is what we make it.  Say “Yes” to attend a program for your personal growth and professional development.  You’ll return to your office re-energized, refreshed and ready to tackle the world!

Our Officers, Board of Directors and Society Members are paving the future path for healthcare administrative professionals in Alabama.  If you have any suggestions, comments or questions please feel free to contact me by phone or email.
